England coasted to victory in their European Championship qualifier against Lithuania. England got off to a great start with an early goal from Rooney. The game went a bit flat after that, with England’s second coming moments before half time from Welbeck. England continued their domination of the game after half time, with further goals coming from Sterling and debutant Harry Kane (80 seconds after coming on).
England controlled the match and looked dangerous in possession. Rooney hit the woodwork twice in the opening 18 minutes and the Lithuanian keeper made some good saves, notably a volley from Delph in the second half. England will undoubtedly face stronger opponents, but they did the job in a professional manner and remain top of the group.
