Book Review: The Freedom Trap

The Freedom Trap looks at a group called the Scarperers, who help prisoners escape from jail. Agent Owen Stannard is planted in jail and escapes at the same time as British traitor Slade, who is being transported East; Stannard’s job is to ensure he doesn’t reach there.

The novel moves along at quite a good pace. There are a couple of breaks in the story, where further explanation is given; whilst this does allow for a better understanding and for the novel to move in a slightly different direction, it does slow the pace of the story down. Stannard is not an all-action superhero and does need help (which he receives), which makes it believable. A good thriller with some well-described action at the end.
