Book review: The Savannah Project

The Savannah Project is the first book in the Jake Pendleton series. Pendleton is an air accident investigator who is investigating a crash in Savannah, where a plane carrying a prominent Irish politician has crashed. There are many who want him dead, but who is responsible? And who can be trusted?

The book begins with detailed descriptions of the accident and the investigation, but the pace picks up once the book becomes a thriller and Pendleton is able to prove that the plane was blown up as opposed to just crashing. There is a tense chase scene in the middle of the novel, where Pendleton is chased on foot and a shoot-out at the end. I enjoyed the book in places, but found the details involved in the crash heavy going at times. There was nothing I particularly disliked about the book, but there was also little that would make me strongly recommend it.
