This Little Britain looks at aspects that Britain should be proud of in various different categories and how it has helped shape the modern world.
Much of Britain’s impact and shaping of the modern world is from the 17th and 18 century, although there are earlier and later reasons why Britain should be proud of its achievements. The reasons are explained well and there is humour within the book as well. As well as explaining Britain’s role in various advancements, it also explains why it was not just luck that it happened in Britain and not elsewhere (or that it was inevitable), which has often been overlooked in other history books I have read If you are looking for a history book with a difference, I would recommend this.
