As the title suggests, Napoleon Bonaparte: A Very Brief History gives an overview of Napoleon’s life. His rise, victories and fall are all contained in 43 pages. Notable event’s in Napoleon’s life (such as the Battle of Waterloo) have had entire books devoted to them, but this gives an overview of his life and sums events up quickly (Waterloo receives around one page). As a starting point it is excellent, but the breadth and lack of detail is never going to fully study the impact of Napoleon, although the final chapter explores his legacy and things that happened because of him.
