Beer in the Balkans sees Tom Burnett travel around the Balkans, looking to try national beers from the countries in the region. It combines history, sights to see see in the cities visited and the beers that he finds (along with some interesting characters). The brief history and attractions are interesting and written in an informal way, whilst the parts about the beer are less like a book and more like a chat with mates at the local. Easy to read and very enjoyable – I strongly recommend it to anyone who enjoys informal travel writing and/or beer.

I’ll read this one, too. It’s only $2.15 on Kindle. Thanks for the review 🙂

How did you find out about it? The book has only four reviews on Amazon. It was probably published indpeendently. (It was.)

It was in the top 100 bestsellers when I looked at them a while ago. It looked good, so I got it and it was excellent.
