Hodgson’s 26-man squad

Roy Hodgson has announced a 26-man squad for England’s Euro 2016 warm up games against Turkey and Australia and will cut the squad to 23 men on 31st May. Hodgson has name three goalkeepers and seven defenders, so I don’t think that any of those players will fail to make the final squad. There is a slight surprise in that only three recognise centre-backs have been named in Cahill, Smalling and Stones – squads for tournaments often include four centre backs. Hodgson has name eleven midfielders and I think two of them will fail to make the final squad. I think Hodgson will not take Wilshere and Delph due to a lack of game time following injuries, although Hodgson is a big fan of Wilshere, which could see him make the final cut. If Hodgson decides to take Wilshere, I think Drinkwater could be the unlucky man. Hodgson has picked five strikers and I expect him to only take four, with Rashford not making the squad. If I were picking the squad, I would have included Defoe and taken him to the tournament along with Kane, Rooney, Vardy and Sturridge.

Who do you think Hodgson should leave out from the squad? Leave a comment saying if you agree with my choices or which three players you would leave out and why.
