Journal of the Waterloo Campaign was written by an officer who fought at Waterloo. The book title mentions the Waterloo campaign, but little of the book is about the actual battle. The journey to Waterloo in 1815 is documented and then going to Paris and occupying France. Whilst undoubtedly a reflection of what it was to be like in Wellington’s victorious army, the book is more like a travel log as opposed to one about a battle. As a result of this, I found it a more difficult read than I was expecting (my attention often wandered whilst reading) with much less overview of the battle than I was hoping for.
