Live and Let Die is the second novel in the James Bond series. Bond heads over to America to find out about gold coins, which brings him face to face with Mr. Big.
Live and Let Die is far darker than Casino Royale (with the exception of Bond being tortured by Le Chiffre). Bond makes his first kill (and in a fairly unexpected way) and Mr. Big is a much more dangerous opponent than Le Chiffre ever was. Bond is challenged and is not always equal to challenges; the mission also becomes personal as he seeks revenge for Felix Leiter. It’s an excellent thriller in which Bond becomes a more developed character in a more dangerous situation.
