Diamonds are Forever

Diamonds are being smuggled out of Sierra Leone and making a big profit in America. The Spangled Mob are thought to be behind it and James Bond is tasked with with breaking the pipeline of diamonds.

For the second time in four novels, Bond returns to America. He also teams up with Felix Leiter again. Bond is shown to be a flawed character, having no respect for his opponents. This under-estimation creates problems for him, but he resolves them with relative ease, certainly in comparison to the problems he encountered in the previous two novels. It’s a decent thriller, but Bond rarely seems to be in any real danger and at no point was there any thought he wouldn’t succeed.
